Introduction

In accordance with the 1998 Law XI on Attorneys and the relevant Hungarian bar rules, VÖLGYESI, BÁTONYI & KOVÁCS ÜGYVÉDI TÁRSULÁS / ATTORNEYS AT LAW was founded and registered as a law firm with the Budapest Bar. Within the framework of the firm’s lasting partnership, the three law firms founded and led by Dr. András Völgyesi, Dr. Richárd Bátonyi and Dr. Márton Kovács provide legal services to its clients.

By merging together in January 2007 to form a new firm, its members were able to combine their specialized knowledge and practical experience acquired over the last decade in order to provide complex legal advice to an even broader range of clients in a greater number of legal areas. The founding members’ combined experience includes working for an accounting firm belonging to the Big Four, leading Hungarian law offices as well as the country’s most prominent international law firm. The in-house associates and contract attorneys working in the firm’s office located in the brownstone district of the Buda hills include eight senior associates, several apprentice attorneys and legal assistants, who work together to provide legal services to the firm’s clients.

The firm enjoys a good working relationship with financial and tax advisers, leading tax planning firms and international advising firms, as well as Luxembourg and Cypriot law firms.
